LEDUC TRADED

Alexandre Leduc was officially traded today. The Saint John Sea Dogs forward was sent to Gatineau for a third round pick in the 2011 QMJHL entry draft.

The 20 year old was expected to be traded after Mike Hoffman and Nicholas Petersen were returned to Saint John following pro camps. The other overager with the team is goaltender Marc-Antoine Gelinas. By QMJHL rules, teams are only allowed to carry three 20 year old's.
"Ocho", as he called by fans and teammates, was traded to Saint John at the 2006-07 trade deadline from Val-d'Or. Between the two clubs, he had three goals and 12 points. The following season he played in 68 games, scoring 15 goals and 41 points. He also had 12 points in the Sea Dogs trip to the semi-finals.
Last season things took a turn for the worse. Leduc missed all but nine regular season games after he tore a ligament in his knee while jogging during training camp.
This season, Leduc has three goals and five points in 10 games. He scored the overtime goal in the Sea Dogs home opener on September 19. In those ten games he also has 26 penalty minutes with many of them being minor infractions.
