SEA DOGS NOTEBOOK

GELINAS' NEW MASK A SUCCESS
Goaltender Marc-Antoine Gelinas debuted his new mask at Harbour Station on Saturday after replacing Karel St. Laurent. The mask is blue with the Sea Dogs logo on one side and Jason from the movie Friday the 13th on the opposite side. On the bottom of the new mask his Gelinas' nick name "Gelly" very similar to what Sea Dogs alumni Travis Fullerton had on his mask but with the word "Fully."

MACAULEY INJURED
Sea Dogs forward Stephen MacAuley has been diagnosed with a lower body injury. He missed both of this weekends games. He has four points in 13 games this season.

MCEWAN DEBUTS WITH CAPITALS
Defenceman Robert McEwan, 18, made his debut with the Summerside Western Capitals in Miramichi. McEwan started the year with the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.The Capitals acquired his MJAHL rights from Amherst in exchange for the rights to P.E.I. Rocket forward Brandon Street.

The Sea Dogs signed McEwan as a free agent last year. He appeared in 37 games with the Sea Dogs over the past two years, recording two assists and 35 penalty minutes while posting a plus-two rating.

He joins Sea Dogs affiliate players Will Johnston and goaltender Jared Kelly, son of Mike Kelly, in Summerside.

HALLOWEEN GAME NEXT SUNDAY
Next Sunday the Sea Dogs take on the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in the annual Halloween Fun Day. Candy will be given out along with a costume contest for all ages. It will also be Family Fun Day #4 at the Station with a kids play area, post-game autograph session, and the special 4-for-$40 ticket package.

TOP DOGS IN ATLANTIC
Mike Hoffman after a two goal performance on Saturday: "We were really clicking offensively out there today. We're proud to be in first place in our division."

"We were due tonight,'' Hoffman said of Sundays win to the Telegraph-Journal. "We owed these guys after they beat us here (on Sept. 23) at home and then they beat us there (last Tuesday), and we knew it was a battle for first place in our division.''

"We just took it upon ourselves to play harder and smarter and we ended up winning," said Steven Anthony who had a shorthanded goal against PEI. "By the looks of this division, there are four teams that could beat each other on any given night.''
