Notes: Forward Maxime Legault left Wednesday’s game with a lower body injury in the second period and did not return. Eagles head coach Mario Durocher told the Cape Breton Post early estimates have him out for two weeks...Stephen Horyl (upper body) is still listed as day-to-day… Wednesday, the Eagles flipped 17-year-old blue-liners Zachary Evans-Renaud and Ian Saab and a second round pick in the 2012 draft to the Maineiacs in return for defenceman Eric Gelinas, forward Stephen Woodworth and a fifth-round pick in 2010. Gelinas was then traded to Chicoutimi in exchange for forward Jacob Legace. Lagace is expected to join the Eagles sometime this weekend… the Eagles placed goaltender Chris Holden and defenseman Myles Micallef on waivers yesterday. Durocher told the Cape Breton Post that he had tried to trade the two before the deadline. The Eagles have called up 16-year-old prospect Alex Veronneau to backup starter Olivier Roy… in other trades the Eagles acquired Paul Kalin, Pier-Antoine Dion, and Derek Larade. On the way out are several draft picks, and Patrick Lapostolle…. the Eagles have three Buffalo Sabers prospects on their roster… Cape Breton’s Viktor Hertzberg is only six points back of Stanislav Galiev for the QMJHL rookie scoring lead with 14 goals and 21 assists in 43 games… Luke Adam is not expected to play tonight after helping Canada win silver at the World Junior Hockey Championships. Adam leads the Eagles in scoring and sits seventh in league scoring… Nick McNeil and Luke Adam both have a team high four points against Saint John this season… 12-5-1-2 on the road this season and are 5-4-0-1 in their last 10 games.

He left mid-way through the Dogs’4-3 shootout last Thursday… Saint John has scored the second highest amount of goals this season with 184 – one back of the Voltigeurs… have the most wins of any team in the QMJHL… have a 13 point lead for first overall in the Atlantic division and a nine point lead in the QMJHL standings… after keeping the Wildcats to only one goal on six power play chances last night, the Sea Dogs have slipped to last overall in the league again with a kill off rate at 74.1%... 7-3-0-0 in their last 10 games and are coming off a 5-3 loss against Moncton… now have the second best home record at 16-4-0-0 and are 8-2-0-0 in their last 10 games at Harbour Station… Saint John’s home penalty kill is also a league worst at 68%... Nicholas Petersen is on a 10 game point scoring streak. He has eight goals and 11 assists in that span… Stanislav Galiev is first in rookie scoring with 10 goals and 31 assists in 41 games this season… Petersen leads the league with a +40 rating… Galiev and Michael Kirkpatrick lead the Sea Dogs with five points against the Eagles this season… Kevin Gagne has a team best +6 rating against Cape Breton. Jean-Francois Berube showed Wednesday why the Montreal Junior felt they could afford to trade their No. 1 goalie.

The netminder made 34 saves in a Montreal's 4-1 win over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in Quebec Major Junior Hockey league play.

Earlier in the day, the Junior traded Canadian world junior goalie Jake Allen to the Drummondville Voltigeurs in exchange for first-round draft picks in 2010 and 2011.

Allem, the 19-year-old St. Louis Blues prospect, was 11-11-0 with a 2.66 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage in 23 starts for Montreal this season.

At Sydney, N.S., Trevor Parkes, Nicolas Chouinard, David Stich and Jeremy Gouchie scored for Montreal (19-18-3). Chouinard also picked up two assists.

Brad Cuzner had the only goal for Cape Breton (24-14-5).

Montreal led 2-0 before the game was ten minutes old thanks to goals from Parkes and Chouinard.

Cuzner got Cape Breton back to within one with just under seven minutes to go in the first, but Stich scored on the power play 32 seconds into the second to make it 3-1. Gouchie made it 4-1 at 9:25 of the period.

Olivier Roy made 31 saves for the Screaming Eagles in taking the loss.
