PRE-GAME NOTES: Sea Dogs vs Wildcats

GAME DAY
What:
Presidents Cup Playoffs: Round Four – Game Two
Who: Saint John Sea Dogs vs Moncton Wildcats
When: 4:05 pm
Where: Moncton Coliseum

FIVE THINGS TO NOTE
Yahoo! Sports took a look at five things fans should watch for in the President’s Cup Final last week.

LIVE ACROSS THE PROVINCE
Today’s game will be broadcast across New Brunswick on Rogers TV.

“With a sold out Coliseum, the Wildcats, supported by the QMJHL and its major sponsor Telus, have reached this agreement with Rogers Television,” said Moncton General Manager Bill Schurman in a release.

“We are delighted so many of our fans will now have three options to be part of this historic all New Brunswick final series,” said the GM. “Our fans can follow the game on the official radio voice of the Wildcats, News 91.9, via the Telus webcast and now with Rogers television. This series has heightened the on going rivalry between the Wildcats and the Sea Dogs. The television coverage will help provide maximum exposure of the Wildcats and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League”.

The Sea Dogs organization has yet to say why none of the games played at Harbour Station will be aired.

WE TALKIN’ BOUT PRACTICE
The Sea Dogs had a “brief practice” yesterday, with saintjohnseadogs.com capturing the session with still pictures.

KABANOV UPDATE
As reported earlier, Kirill Kabanov will not be returning to the Wildcats lineup for this series.

From News 91.9:

Cats General Manager Bill Schurman says the forward will be going to Calgary with his agent to spend some time rehabilitating his injured wrist.

Schurman says Kabanov will be kept on the Cat's protected list and they will be following his progress with interest.

Some have suggested that Kabanov isn't welcome back in Moncton after leaving the team to attend the Under-18 championship in Russia -- but Schurman says that's not the case.

He says the organization isn't 100 per cent convinced Kabanov is ready to return from his injury.

OUT OF TOWN
The Windsor Spitfires look to take a 3-0 series advantage this afternoon on home ice. The game can be seen at 5:05 pm AST on Rogers Sportsnet.

The Western Hockey League Final takes a day off today. The Calgary Hitmen defeated the Tri-City Americans last 4-1 to take a 2-0 series advantage. Game three is Tuesday in Washington State.

We hope to have the lineups posted before puck drop this afternoon.
