DOGS, HERD RUBBER MATCH TONIGHT

For the third time this pre-season, the Saint John Sea Dogs will play the Halifax Mooseheads. Game time is 7:00 pm at Harbour Station.

The two teams have split their two meetings so far in exhibition play. Neither team has won on the road. saint John has outscored Halifax 7-5 along the way.

Mike Thomas, Colin Campbell, and Ryan Tesink lead Saint John in pre-season scoring against Saint John with two points each. Campbell was cut from the Sea Dogs last week.

For Halifax, Garrett Clarke, Steve Gillard, Francis Turbide, and Gerrad Grant lead the Herd in scoring against the sea Dogs with a pair of points each.

According to Metro’s Q Files on Twitter, goaltender Mathieu Corbeil, defenceman Garret Clarke, forawrd Alex Lemieux, forward Gabriel Desjardins and defenceman Jamie Bishop all practiced this morning and will not play tonight in Saint John. Also not playing tonight is the newly “freed” Martin Frk.

With Corbeil not in the lineup for Halifax, the goaltenders for this evening match will be overager Peter Delmas and rookie Anthony Terenzio. Saint John only has two goaltenders remaining on their Training Camp roster in Karel St. Laurent and Frederic Piche.

"We're happy with them,'' Sea Dogs head coach Gerard Gallant said of the goaltending tandem to the Telegraph-Journal. "Like I've said in training camp, it's not what you've done in the past. It's what you're doing today. We need two goalies to win, just like we need four lines to win and eight defencemen.''

Saint John wraps up the pre-season Thursday at the Charlottetown Civic Centre when they face the PEI Rocket.
