TELUS' COSTLY WEBCASTS RETURN

Telus and their redonkulously high webcast prices are back for another Quebec Major Junior Hockey League season.

Fans wishing to watch a single game of archived hockey can purchase the match for $1.95. A single live webcast will cost fans $6.95.

Telus will offer two packages this season.

Package A includes every game of every team, all archived games, and all playoff games. Cost of this pack is $199.95.

Package B features every regular season game of one team of your choice as well as all QMJHL archived games. Cost is $149.95. It does not include playoffs.

The prices may not seem that high to some, but given the quality and size of the video and the fact that the price for a full season is comparable to the NHL’s Center Ice package, the cost seems a bit high.

On a brighter note, it certainly is nice to have video of every game. The QMJHL had offered free webcasts but began charging for them last season.

The majority of the Saint John Sea Dogs’ road games last season had the News 88.9 audio plugged into the feed. According to today's Telegraph-Journal, Tim Roszell will be the voice for Harbour Station games as well this year.

The QMJHL regular season opens tomorrow night in Moncton with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan take on the Wildcats.
