PRE-GAME NOTES: Sea Dogs vs Titan

GAME DAY
What: QMJHL Regular Season Game #134
Who: Saint John Sea Dogs vs Acadie-Bathurst Titan
When: 7:30 pm AST
Where: KC Irving Regional Centre

LINEUP NOTES
Per News 88.9's Tim Roszell, Steven Anthony returns to the lineup tonight after missing Sunday’s game with strep throat and a fever. Forward Jason Cameron and defenseman Tyrone Sock are both healthy scratches.

DeSERRES LOOKS TO MAKE HISTORY
Jacob DeSerres will need to play only one-minute and 55 seconds more of shutout hockey and he will set a new Sea Dogs team record for longest shutout streak to start a career with Saint John.

Karel St. Laurent, the man DeSerres put out of a job, currently holds the record with a shutout streak of 61:54. The 20-year old netminder shutout the Val-d’Or Foreurs in September of 2008 in his Sea Dogs debut a Harbour Station. The next day, Jeremy Gouchie, then of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, scored 1:54 into the game to end goose egg.

LOVIN’ THE BATHURST
Tonight will be the first regular season meeting between the two teams. For the past two seasons, Saint John and Bathurst have met up at the KC Irving Regional Centre to kick of the season.

In the 2008-09 season opener for both clubs, Kevin Charland scored in overtime to give the Sea Dogs a 3-2 victory. Then last year, Jonathan Huberdeau scored the shootout winner to give the Dogs their first win of a very successful campaign.
