REMPARTS' ROY SUSPENDED

The Quebec Remparts will be without one of their top forwards when they host the Saint John Sea Dogs this afternoon at Pepsi Colisee. Game time is 4:00 pm AST.

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Disciplinary Prefect, Raymond Bolduc, suspended Remparts forward Frédérick Roy yesterday for three games for a boarding incident that occurred during Friday’s game versus the Rimouski Oceanic.

Le Journal de Quebec is confirming that Roy will not be dressed for today’s tilt of Canadian Hockey League titans.

The play, which saw Roy toss Alex MacDonald into the boards, happened at 11:32 of the first period in the Remparts’ 4-3 loss against the Oceanic Friday.

The decision was rendered after reviewing the videotape of the incident, gathering the testimonies from the players and the organizations involved, reading the officials’ report and consulting the independent committee in the matter of disciplinary sanctions.

The Disciplinary Prefect will not be available for further comment.

Roy, the son of Remparts head coach Patrick Roy, is fourth in team scoring with 16 goals and 26 assists in 46 games. He is also a +19 on the year and has served 40 penalty minutes.
