PREVIEW
SAINT JOHN - The PEI Rocket are in town tonight to face the Saint John Sea Dogs at 7:30pm at Harbour Station. Tonight is the Sea Dogs’ first home game since December 10 when Saint John beat Halifax 7-3.

Saint John enters play tonight with a 28-11-0-1 record and sit first in the Maritimes Division and second overall in the league with 57 points. The Dogs are 6-4-0-0 in their last 10 games and are coming off a 4-3 loss in Bathurst on Wednesday.

The Sea Dogs are 16-3-0-0 at the Station and have outscored opponents 96-50.

PEI enters action this evening with a record of 9-25-2-2. They sit last in the Maritimes Division and last overall in the league with 22 points. They are four points back of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies who currently own the final playoff spot.

The Rocket are 3-15-0-1 on the road and have been outscored 104-57. They have the least amount of road wins in the league.

LAST GAMES
The Sea Dogs are coming off a 4-3 loss in Bathurst on Wednesday night. Danick Gauthier, Stephen MacAulay, and Aidan Kelly all scored for Saint John as their comeback bid fell just short. Mathieu Corbeil was pulled after allowing four goals on 19 shots. Sebastien Auger stopped all five shots he faced in relief.

The Rocket are coming off a 3-2 win over the Moncton Wildcats on Wednesday in Charlottetown. Jessyko Bernard, Josh Currie and Matej Beran all scored for PEI. Maxime Lagace made 28 saves in the victory.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
Saint John is 4-0-0-0 against the Rocket this year. Their last meeting was on November 18 when Tomas Jurco and Danick Gauthier both scored in a 2-1 win at the Charlottetown Civic Centre.


LEADING SCORERS
Zack Phillips continues to lead Saint John in scoring with 54 points (19G, 35A) in 33 games. Danick Gauthier leads the squad in goals with 32 while Phillips has a team high 35 assists.

Ben Duffy leads the Rocket in scoring with 54 points (21G, 33A) in 38 games. Duffy leads the team in goals with 21 and assists with 33.

Mathieu Corbeil (22-7-0-0, 2.43 GAA, 0.909 SV%) for Saint John and Maxime Lagace (7-22-2-1, 4.22 GAA, 0.863 SV%) for PEI.

TRADES
Yesterday, Saint John shipped forward Scott Oke, prospect Maxime Gravel, and a third round pick to Rimouski in exchange for a first and seventh round pick.

PEI has been busy on the trade front as well. They traded captain Matthew Hobbs to Victoriaville yesterday for Benjamin Laliberte, a second round pick, and a sixth round pick. Hobbs had three goals and 10 assists in 36 games with the Rocket.

M.I.A. FOR SAINT JOHN
Saint John is missing a large amount of players. Forwards Jonathan Huberdeau, Charlie Coyle and Tomas Jurco along with defenseman Nathan Beaulieu are all away at the World Junior Hockey Championships in Alberta. Forward Oliver Cooper is away with Team Atlantic at the World Under-17 Challenge in Windsor.

Forwards Stanislav Galiev (wrist), Ryan Tesink (knee), and Devon Oliver-Dares (head) have all been out with injuries.

M.I.A. FOR PEI
According to the Charlottetown Guardian, Ryan Graves, Kelly Bent and Yan Pavel Laplante are all in Windsor taking part in the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
