Metro Halifax’s recap. “They’ve had our number a lot,” said Boudreau. “We had to respond today to have a better weekend, and grab two points out of them and maybe catch up to them a bit. It’s a huge win and everyone is really proud.”

The Chronicle Herald’s recap. "I scored another goal at my spot (on the power play)," Boudreau said. "I’m always there and (coach Dominique Ducharme) calls it my office. It’s nice to score two goals in an important game like that."

SN Live Blog replay. Chippy game.

MISSING IN ACTION: Forward Jonathan Huberdeau and Zack Phillips along with defenseman Nathan Beaulieu all missed Sunday’s game due to their participation in Team Canada’s world junior selection camp in Calgary.

Ryan Tesink (knee) and Stanislav Galiev (wrist) are both out until January. Mackenzie Brown, who was injured in Saturday’s game, missed the contest with a lower-body injury.

RECALLED: The Sea Dogs recalled forward Dylan McGuigan for the game. He had an assist in three previous games with the Sea Dogs this season. He was once a member of the Mooseheads, playing 14 games with the Herd in 2009-10.

In 29 games with the MHL’s Truro Bearcats this year, MacGuigan has five goals and nine assists.

MacKINNON: Mooseheads star Nathan MacKinnon missed his second straight game with a shoulder injury.

TOUGH BREAK: The Sea Dogs played well in the first period, outshooting the Mooseheads 8-3. Halifax had a 1-0 lead after one though after a bad turnover from Sebastien Auger behind the net went right to the stick of Matthew Boudreau instead of Charles-Olivier Roussel. Very unfortunate.

SCARY MOMENT: A scary moment in the second period as Devon Oliver-Dares hit his head hard on the ice following a fight with Luca Ciampini. The officials immediately waived to the Sea Dogs bench that he would need assistant. Oliver-Dares sat on the ice for a few minutes before heading off the through the Mooseheads’ entrance.  There was apparently some blood on the ice.

Chronicle Herald reporter Willy Palov  tweeted about the incidentafter the game.

“Talked to the game doctor about Devon Oliver-Dares,” tweeted Palov. “Said he gave him a few stitches on the back of his head, but otherwise OK. “

“Just to be clear, I say ‘otherwise OK’ but I'm sure Oliver-Dares has a concussion. Probably a bad one.”

“Hate to see someone hit their head like that, but proud of my boy Luca for dropping the gloves and defending Marty,” tweeted theinjured Nathan MacKinnon moments after the incident.

SAAB: With his fight in the second period, defenseman Ian Saab became the first player in the QMJHL to reach triple digits in penalty minutes. He now has 101 on the year.

Here’s the scrap.

STREAK: The Sea Dogs' 15-game winning streak over the Mooseheads came to an end on Sunday. It was a good run.

GAUTHIER: Huge weekend for Danick Gauthier. His goal on Sunday afternoon gave him five on the weekend and 31 on the year. He is now tied with Zach O’Brien for the league lead.

PENALTIES: Sea Dogs took a lot of unnecessary penalties on this one, giving Halifax seven power play opportunities. The Herd scored twice on the man advantage.
