Sea Dogs Trade Sock For Moore

SAINT JOHN – It’s been a busy couple of days on the trade front for the Saint John Sea Dogs.

Today, the Sea Dogs traded defenseman Tyrone Sock to the Prince Edward Island Rocket in exchange for d-man Jordan Moore.

Sock has played in nine games with the Sea Dogs this season, recording four assists. He has not played a game with Saint John since October 14 in Rouyn-Noranda. In 22 games with the Maritime Hockey League’s Miramichi Timberwolves, the 18-year old has a goal and seven assists.

Sock played in 23 games with Saint John last season, registering an assist. He played in one game with the Sea Dogs in 2009-10.

Moore, 19, has five goals and 23 assists in 31 games with the MHL’s Pictou Weeks Crushers.

The Charlottetown native had two assists in 30 games with the Rocket last season. He recorded a goal and two helpers in 45 contests with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in 2009-10.

This is the sixth transaction the Sea Dogs have made since the trading period opened. They acquired forward Maxime Villemaire from the Drummondville Voltigeurs yesterday.

The trade period closes on Saturday at 1pm AST.
