According to Jeremy Rutherferd of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Blues did not sign Saint John Sea Dogs forward Stephen
MacAulay.
Today was the deadline for National Hockey League teams to
sign 2010 draft picks.
MacAulay was selected by the Blues in the sixth round,
164th overall in the 2010 NHL Draft.
The Cole Harbour native had a career year this season,
recording 15 goals and 20 assists in 60 games. In the playoffs, MacAulay added
six goals and seven assists 17 games played.
MacAulay is one of the few players of this year’s Sea Dogs
roster that played in the Jacques Beaulieu era. He had six points in his rookie
reason of 2008-09, playing in 47 regular season matches and two playoff games.
In his four-year Quebec Major Junior Hockey League
career, he registered 40 goals, 53 assists, and 139 penalty minutes in 221 regular
season games. He also had 14 goals, 19 assists, 45 penalty minutes in 59
playoff games.
MacAulay could return as a 20-year old next season but it’s
hard to say at the moment what will happen with him.
