It's Draft Day

The Saint John Sea Dogs’ rebuild truly begins this morning in Quebec City.

The 2012 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft takes place this morning at Pepsi Colisee. The Sea Dogs currently have 11 picks in the 14-round draft including two first rounders. Here is where the Sea Dogs will be picking today (at the moment, anyway).

Round 1 – 8th overall
Round 1 – 11th overall
Round 4 – 70th overall
Round 4 – 73rd overall
Round 7 – 121st overall
Round 9 – 165th overall
Round 10 – 183rd overall
Round 12 – 207th overall
Round 12 – 218th overall
Round 13 – 236th overall
Round 14 – 250th overall

There are rumours that the Sea Dogs are trying to land Halifax’s first round pick which is for 15th overall. The full list of every selection can be found on the QMJHL website.

Some other essential links: Steve Turcotte’s mock draft, Metro Halifax’s scouting report on the top 10 prospects, and our post on the three players who the media has been saying the Sea Dogs may take.

The expansion Sherbrooke Phoenix will select first and are expected to take Daniel Audette followed by the PEI Rocket selecting Alexis Pepin and then Cape Breton picking Clark Bishop. Things could change of course, but that seems to be the consensus on how things are going to go down. After the top three the fun will begin.

VOX will streaming the draft on their website beginning at 10am Atlantic. We believe the draft itself begins at 11am Atlantic.
