Around The League

Elsewhere in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, things are actually happening. Gasp! Here is a roundup.

MONCTON
The Wildcats finally traded Brandon Shea yesterday, according to the Quebec Remparts' Twitter. Moncton sent the American forward to the Remparts in exchange for a third round pick in the 2015 QMJHL Entry Draft. Shea, a first round pick by the ‘Cats in the 2011 draft, left the team mid-season. He registered three goals and seven assists in 45 games. His NHL draft stock has dropped dramatically over the past year.

The Wildcats also traded Alexander Centis-Jorge to the Shawinigan Cataractes in exchange for a 7th round pick for the 2014 QMJHL Draft. Centis-Jorge was a 3rd round pick during the 2011 Draft.

QUEBEC
Nikita Kucherov, a second-round pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2011 NHL Draft, tweeted this on Tuesday.

The Remparts selected the Russian forward 43rd overall in the CHL Import Draft.

Quebec will be one of the best teams in the league this season. They visit Saint John in December.

SHAWINIGAN
The Cataractes acquired from the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies goaltender Jeffrey Noonan in exchange for a 13th round pick of 2014. Noonan played 28 games with the Huskies last season, going 8-11-2 with a 4.41 GAA and a 0.857 SV%.

ROCKET
The PEI Rocket officially acquired Alex Micallef from the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in exchange for a second and sixth round pick in the 2013 Draft. Micallef, a 20-year old defenseman, recorded 37 points in 55 games with the Armada last year.
