Sea Dogs Acquire Kelly Bent

BATHURST – The Sea Dogs have reportedly acquired Kelly Bent from the Gatineau Olympiques.

The deal has not been posted on the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League website yet but Bent has tweeted about being traded.
According to the Olympiques’ Twitter feed, the Sea Dogs acquired Bent for an eighth-round pick in 2015.

Bent, an 18-year old forward from Halifax, is listed at 6’00” and 192 lbs on the league website. He was a fourth-round pick of the PEI Rocket in 2011 and was traded to Gatineau last season.

In 47 career QMJHL games, Bent has one goal, three assists, and 92 penalty minutes. He also had eight fights last season – second most on the Olympiques (seven of the eight were with Gatineau). His 2011-12 fight card includes two tilts against Saint John’s Oliver Cooper.

Saint John’s next pre-season game is Saturday night at Harbour Station against Bathurst.
