Stephen Anderson In Hospital

The Sea Dogs announced this afternoon that forward Stephen Anderson is in hospital following the hit he took during the second period of Sunday’s game against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. Anderson left and did not return to the game.

From the Sea Dogs:

The Morell, P.E.I., native was transported by ambulance to Saint John Regional Hospital shortly after the game following some complications.
He is conscious and resting at the hospital.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Stephen and his family right now," said Sea Dogs President Wayne Long. "We are doing everything we can to support the family and the team."

The team release says that they will provide updates when they become available.

Anderson, 19, is a significant part of Saint John’s offense and has been on the team’s top line most of the season. He has 11 goals and 14 assists in 38 games. He is also fifth in the league in dangerous shots with 101.

It was a rough weekend for the Sea Dogs as rookie forwards Joey Richard and Samuel Dove-McFalls were hurt on Saturday against Halifax. The team heads out on the road this week to play three games in Quebec.
