Noel Invited To U-18 Camp

Sea Dogs forward Nathan Noel was among the 44 players invited to attend Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team selection camp.

The camp runs from August 2-5 at the Markin MacPhail Centre in Calgary. The camp will help determine Canada’s roster for 2014 U-18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup. This year’s tournament goes from August 11-16 in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

According to a Hockey Canada release, “the camp roster includes 18 players from the Western Hockey League, 15 from the Ontario Hockey League, 10 from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and one who played U.S. high school hockey last season.”

QMJHL players invited to attend were goaltenders Callum Booth and Olivier Tremblay; defensemen Guillaume Brisebois, Olivier Galipeau, Nicolas Meloche, Philippe Myers, and Jeremy Roy; and forwards Anthony Beauvillier, Noel, and Nicolas Roy.

Noel, the third overall pick in the 2013 QMJHL Entry Draft, recorded 16 goals and 23 assists in 63 games with the Sea Dogs last season.
