CAP notes: This is a big game for the Screaming Eagles as they prepare their roster for the Junior Club World Cup in Ufa, Russia… “We’re going to have a lot of 16 and 17 year olds in our lineup, but we want to see them compete,” Screaming Eagles head coach and general manager Marc-Andre Dumont told the Cape Breton Post. “We want to see how they do in different situations that will be presented to them. It’s a question of competition. They have to step on the ice and compete”… Evgeny Svechnikov will not play due to injury… the Eagles selected forward Pierre-Luc Dubois with the fifth overall pick in this year’s draft… Michael O’Leary, who the Eagles selected 14th overall, did not report.

SJ notes: Some are calling Sea Dogs training camp the most competitive camp they’ve seen. Hopefully that carries over into pre-season games… this is the first of six exhibition games for Saint John… tickets for tonight’s game are free and a big crowd is expected… 43 players remain at Sea Dogs camp.
