Zboril Scores Twice In Huge Win

Jakub Zboril continued his point run at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament today.

The 17-year old defenseman, drafted fifth overall by the Sea Dogs in this summer’s CHL Import Draft, scored twice in the Czech Republic’s huge 11-2 victory over Russia this afternoon.

Zboril now has four goals and two assists in three preliminary round games, placing him third overall in tournament scoring and first amongst defensemen.

The Brno, Czech Republic native also registered two goals and two assists in a pre-tournament game against Canada.

The Czechs went 3-0 in the preliminary round and finished atop Group A. They’ll face Sweden in the semi-finals on Friday.

Meanwhile, Canada won Group B following a 5-1 win over Slovakia. They’ll take on the United States in the other semi-final.
