Game Day 11: vs Titan

The Saint John Sea Dogs (7-2-1-0, third overall QMJHL, first Maritimes Division) return to Harbour Station tonight, hosting the Acadie-Bathurst Titan (4-4-1-1, 12th overall QMJHL, 5th Maritimes) at 7 p.m.

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 4-2 win in Val-d’Or on Saturday. Mathieu Joseph scored twice while singles came from Jakub Zboril and Spencer Smallman. Alex D’Orio made 18 saves in the win. The Titan are coming off a 5-3 loss to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on Sunday in Bathurst. Dawson Theede scored twice while Jonathan Bourcier also netted a goal. Reilly Pickard made 32 saves in the win.

2016-17 head-to-head: Surprisingly, this is the first meeting of the season between the two.

2015-16 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs were 6-1-2-0 against the Titan last season while Bathurst went 3-5-0-1 against Saint John.

Last meeting: These two met a few times during the pre-season, with the last being a 7-3 Sea Dogs win on Aug. 28 at Harbour Station. Zach Grzelewski scored twice while singles came from Samuel Dove-McFalls, John Warren, Matthew Highmore, Joe Veleno and Oliver Felixson. Bathurst had two goals from Daniil Miromanov and a single from Vladimir Kuznetsov. Alex Bishop and Matthew Williams picked up the win in net. Tanner Somers picked up the loss.

Random stat: Matthew Highmore is third in the league in scoring with six goals and 11 assists for 17 points. Rimouski’s Tyler Boland leads the league in scoring with 18 points.
