GAME DAY 24: vs Screaming Eagles

The Saint John Sea Dogs (14-6-2-1, 1st Maritimes, 3rd QMJHL) return home tonight to host the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles (11-11-2-0, 4th Maritimes, 10th QMJHL). It's Support our Troops Night at Harbour Station. Game time is 7 p.m.

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 3-2 shootout loss in Moncton on Sunday. Matthew Highmore and Jakub Zboril scored for Saint John while Alex D'Orio made 23 saves. The Screaming Eagles are coming off a 5-3 win over the Charlottetown Islanders on Saturday. Giovanni Fiore had a hat trick while singles came from Phelix Martineau and Tobie Paquette-Bisson had singles. Kevin Mandolese made 30 saves in the win.

2016-17 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 2-0-0-0 against the Screaming Eagles this season while Cape Breton is 0-2-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Nov. 1 at Centre 200 where the Sea Dogs defeated the Screaming Eagles 6-1. Samuel Leblanc, Mathieu Joseph, Matt Green, Jakub Zboril, Bokondji Imama and Bailey Webster scored for Saint John. Phelix Martineau had Cape Breton's lone goal. Alex Bishop made 23 saves in the win. Kyle Jessiman allowed four goals on 22 shots and Colten Ellis allowed one on eight in the loss.

Random stat: Cape Breton's Pierre-Luc Dubois, the third overall pick in this year's NHL Draft, has four goals and seven assists in 14 games this season.

Three Things to Know
1. The Sea Dogs had a three-game winning streak come to an end on Sunday in Moncton. They are still an impressive 3-0-1-1 in their last five games, though.

2. Saint John has the league's best power play with a rating of 32.4%. They'll go up against one of the league's top penalty killing teams tonight. The Screaming Eagles have the fourth best PK with a rating of 82.6%.

3. Sea Dogs defenceman Jakub Zboril has been suspended five games for a hit to the head. He'll serve game one of that suspension tonight.
