Game Day 13: vs Sagueneens

SAINT JOHN - Coming off a fifth straight loss, the Saint John Sea Dogs look to get things back on track tonight against the Chicoutimi Sagueneens.

The Sea Dogs have been playing okay lately, losing four straight one goal games. Their latest loss came on Thursday against the Charlottetown Islanders.

Tonight's meeting with the Sags will be the first time the two have played each other since the QMJHL semifinals, which Saint John won in six games.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 3-7-2-0 (8 points, 6th Maritimes, 17th QMJHL) while the Sagueneens are 3-6-2-0 (8 points, 5th East, 16th QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 3-2 loss in Charlottetown on Thursday night. Cedric Pare and Nathan Larose scored for Saint John. Alex D'Orio made 21 stops in the loss. The Sagueneens are coming off a 3-2 loss in Moncton last night. Ryan Smith scored both Chicoutimi goals. Zachary Bouthillier made 24 stops in the loss.

2017-18 head-to-head: This is the first meeting of the season between the two.

2016-17 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs went 2-0-0-0 against the Sagueneens last season while Chicoutimi went 0-2-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: April 30 in Chicoutimi where the Sea Dogs defeated the Sagueneens 6-5, winning the QMJHL semifinal playoff series in six games. Joe Veleno, Jakub Zboril, Julien Gauthier, Thomas Chabot, Samuel Dove-McFalls and Bokondji Imama scored for Saint John. Joey Ratelle and Frederic Allard each scored twice for Chicoutimi while Dmitry Zhukenov added a single. Callum Booth made 16 stops in the win. Julio Billia made 28 saves in the loss.

Random stat: Olivier Galipeau is fourth in QMJHL defenceman scoring with five goals and 12 points. His five goals are good for third.
