Game Day 54: at Sherbrooke

SHERBROOKE, Que. - The Saint John Sea Dogs will look to rebound from Saturday's disappointing home loss tonight in Sherbrooke.

The Sea Dogs fell 8-5 to the Shawinigan Catarctes on Saturday, blowing a 3-0 first period lead. The loss pushed Saint John into last place overall and five points back of the final playoff spot.

Game time in Sherbrooke this evening is 8 p.m.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 13-31-7-2 for 35 points (6th Maritimes, 18th QMJHL) while the Phoenix are 22-22-7-4 for 55 points (5th West, 12th QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off an 8-5 home loss to the Shawinigan Cataractes on Saturday at Harbour Station. Ostap Safin, Radim Salda, Anthony Boucher, Robbie Burt and Kevin Gursoy all scored for Saint John. Tommy DaSilva made 32 stops in his QMJHL debut. The Phoenix are coming off a 4-3 home shootout loss to the Gatineau Olympiques on Sunday. Mathieu Olivier, Samuel Poulin and Luke Green scored for Sherbrooke. Brendan Cregan made 14 stops in the loss.

2017-18 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 0-1-0-0 against the Phoenix this season while Sherbrooke is 1-0-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Nov. 9 at Harbour Station where the Phoenix edged the Sea Dogs 5-4. Nicolas Poulin scored twice for Sherbrooke while singles came from Yaroslav Alexeyev, Hugo Roy and Benjamin Tardif. Anthony Boucher, Matt Green, Kevin Gursoy and Radim Salda scored for Saint John. Evan Fitzpatrick made 31 stops in the win. Alex D'Orio made 34 saves in the loss.

Random stat: Saint John has really struggled against West Division clubs this season, going 1-8-0-0 so far.

Phoenix to watch: Luke Green made his season debut on Feb. 8 after recovering from an injury suffered way back at Winnipeg Jets camp. The former Sea Dog has a goal and three assists in three games since returning.
