Game Day 67: at Cape Breton

SYDNEY, NS - The Saint John Sea Dogs take on the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles tonight at 7 p.m.

While the Sea Dogs have already eliminated from playoff contention, the Screaming Eagles are still jockeying for position. The team will finish either 12th or 13th overall in the QMJHL standings.

These two also meet tomorrow afternoon to close out the 2017-18 regular season.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 14-41-9-2 for 39 points (6th Maritimes, 18th QMJHL) while the Screaming Eagles are 30-28-6-2 for 68 points (4th Maritimes, 12th QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 7-3 loss in Halifax on Wednesday. Cedric Pare, Aiden MacIntosh and Ben Reid scored for Saint John. Tommy DaSilva was pulled after allowing six goals on 31 shots through 40 minutes of action. Stewart Bagnell made eight saves in the third. The Screaming Eagles are coming off a 9-3 loss in Moncton on Wednesday. Olivier Bourret, Shaun Miller and Egor Sokolov scored for Cape Breton. Kevin Mandolese allowed three goals on seven shots. Kyle Jessiman allowed six goals on 26 shots in relief.

2017-18 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 2-2-3-0 against the Screaming Eagles this season while Cape Breton is 5-2-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Feb. 7 at Harbour Station where the Screaming Eagles defeated the Sea Dogs 4-0. Brooklyn Kalmikov, Phelix Martineau, Shaun Miller and Ross MacDougall scored for Cape Breton. Kevin Mandolese made 17 saves in the shutout. Alex D'Orio made 32 stops in the loss.
